"most hotels rooms are great"
Make sure that you check you know what room you are in,that it is warm not an ice block like we had. we were "flowers in the attic " bathroom had no heating and room was not like described.... Read more

I would have welcomed the opportunity to show you other rooms in the hotel, as the bedrooms in the victorian part of the building are all different from eachother, and appeal to different customers. This hotel is in a location which makes getting into the north of the Peak District and surrounding areas very easy. The hotel itself is in a quite location having large rooms, the friendliness of the staff is execllent. We stayed for dinner rather than seeking an alternative venue and must say that the food was extremely good, well done to the chef. Read less

Welcome to the Durker Roods Hotel, a stunning 2 star Victorian hotel, located amongst beautiful countryside. Guests will experience true Yorkshire hospitality in peaceful surroundings.
We have 30 spacious and very well presented guest rooms, all of which are very well equipped with TV, tea and coffee making facilities and telephones. For the business traveller we can offer ideal facilities- internet access, telephones and plenty of space to work and relax. Our Standard Pennine Rooms offer a comfortable double bed and ensuite bathrooms. The impresive Moorland rooms are in the original part of the building, with large ensuite bathrooms and many original features.
Most importantly guests will find the quiet setting of our rooms ensures the chance of a good nights sleep well away from traffic and noise.
We have a fabulous bar and restaurant area which has been recently refurbished to offer a relaxing atmosphere in which to enjoy a menu bursting with dishes reflecting traditional Yorkshire and British food yet in a modern style. Our chefs also offer a specials menu to reflect seasonal produce, with fish and game being very popular with guests.
Not forgetting our great British breakfast on offer in the mornings, all cooked fresh to order... a great way to start the day!
York is a short train, or car journey away, the train takes you right to the centre of the historic centre and cathedral. Leeds and Harrogate are only 40minutes away. The Hotel is close to Holmfirth, made famous in Last of the Summer Wine and we have National Parks, the moors for walking cycling and riding.
