"OK at heart but not what the website is selling"
Most of the basics were absolutely fine - the room was clean, the bed comfortable. However, there was no soap nor toilet roll when we arrived - quickly and easily remedied by the helpful staff. The TV did not work properly, the only channel available being the Welsh version of Channel 4 - not a lot of use to an English speaker. All the fire doors were propped open using the fire extinguishers! We closed them but they were re-opened when the staff arrived the next morning - illegal and dangerous. Read less

The room was clean and comfortable and quiet.
Dislikes:
It was not what we were expecting from the website. If we had been expecting a faintly ramshackle, slightly chaotic experience instead of upmarket gloss we would have had no cause for complaint.

"Knight of the Castle"
I was the only person staying at the hotel that night. After a good few beers I found my room okay. Woke up the next morning with a mild hangover. Don't remember too much of the room but appeared clean and the bed seemed comfortable as I slept well (but that could be the beer). Breakfast was fine, fairly standard affair. Read less
