The bedroom and restaurant were fine as was the location.
Dislikes:
5 p.m.we were admitted by a guy who gave the impression that he'd rather be somewhere else. The following morning the breakfast room was locked and no one around. We had to find a chef in the kitchen.

food is always really excellent, staff are friendly, room was comfortable, really nice idea having a dvd player in the room, decor in rooms and restaurant is tasteful and modern, clean.
Dislikes:
The only down point to our stay was the noise of the traffic in the night which disturbed my partners sleep a bit, as we like to sleep with the window open for fresh air. No reflection on hotel though

Chosen for its location and appearance more than anything else, The Old Post Office didn't disappoint as it is ideally located for short trips into Cardiff or down to Barry. Trying to get back to the A roads to travel north is a bit more complicated but the area and scenery are too good to just wizz by! The meal we had was lovely but the restaurant has very close competition with the gastro pub next door, which is probably more family friendly. That said I'd recommend it as a quiet retreat. Each room is slightly differently laid out and we spotted a really cool family room with balcony! Our room had it own access to the terrace which overlooks the nearby church
Dislikes:
Aside from some minor redecoration that needed doing in our room my only gripe was the TV reception which was ridiculously poor but the TV had DVD player & iPod port so take your own entertainment!

The modern restaurant extension is a perfect example of how we fuse new with old.
We maintain traditions of a warm welcome and a friendly stay, but in the surroundings of clean, modern lines. Even on the menu you will find a mix of traditional dishes given a new dimension with some modern European influences. So, enjoy Cardiff away from the hustle and bustle of the inner-city and experience the simple relaxing atmosphere of this new style restaurant with rooms.
All rooms come complete with facilities for making tea and coffee, a TV and DVD player, telephone and free WiFi connection. In the morning our hearty breakfast will set you in good stead for the rest of the day, whether a light breakfast buffet, smoked haddock, kippers or the full Welsh breakfast.
