Mansergh House is a Georgian town house offering traditional hospitality, style and charm retaining many of its original features. Built in the mid 1700's it adorns ornately carved cornices and original fire places. A later Victorian addition was the large carved oak doors. With its central location it is a perfect yet peaceful base for the 1 minute walk to the town centre, with its many shops, restaurants, bars, museums and theatre.

Dislikes:
Only criticism was that bathroom seemed a bit tired but owner said it was being ripped out presumably for refurbishment. Also being used to sleeping in king size bed we found the ordinary double small

With its central location it is a perfect yet peaceful base for the one minute walk to the town centre, with its many shops, restaurants, bars, museums and theatre.
A short walk takes you to beaches, picnic area, sports and leisure complex, swimming pools, links golf courses, fishing and water sports on the river. Enjoy the splendid walks on England’s only intact Elizabethan walls with beautiful coastal views to Holy Island and Bamburgh.
Guided tours of the Walls and to the Berwick Barracks Museum available. An ideal location for visiting the lovely Northumberland coast and the beautiful Scottish borders for coastal and hill walking. An abundance of castles, stately homes and gardens to visit; including Alnwick, Bamburgh, Floors, Thirlestane, Paxton House to name a few.
Boat trips to the Farne Islands for bird watching, Scuba diving and nature reserve at St Abbs Head (9 miles) and Cross the causeway to Lindisfarne Holy Island (9 miles).
A quality bed and breakfast establishment quietly run with comfortable well appointed rooms and excellent breakfast menu. Mansergh house would suit the more mature guest.
