"A charming country hotel with easy access to Somerset attractions."
Meare Manor is a charming country hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Our room was large and comfortable. There is no village pub but there are places to eat in adjacent villages or in nearby Glastonbury. The information file in our room included helpful suggestions from past guests about places to eat. We followed one of the recommendations and had an excellent meal at a pub in Glastonbury.
The area has good RSPB sites with thousands of starlings gathering over the nearby levels at dusk Read less
Likes:
We were in the heart of the Somerset countryside but within easy access of a range of town and countryside activities. Walking was easy around the levels but with great views of surrounding hills
Dislikes:
Our sat nav selected obscure, circuitous routes through the back lanes, directing us in a continuous loop at one stage! We would recommend common sense & a good road atlas for more direct routes.

Four star rated Meare Manor, located in the heart of the Somerset countryside, was originally the summer residence for the abbots of Glastonbury Abbey. It offers a warm welcome into peaceful and comfortable surroundings.

The manor is located three miles from Glastonbury and Street and is within easy reach of the M5. It offers easy access to the historic town of Glastonbury, the cathedral city of Wells, Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole Caves, Clarkes Village at Street and the beautiful coasts of West Somerset and North Devon.

Meare Manor is situated right in the heart of the Somerset Wetlands and Shapwick Heath Nature Reserve, which is run by Natural England, is on our doorstep. There are also sites run by the RSPB who organise walks in the area. For anyone who loves wildlife and wonderful scenery this is the place to come. Most details are on our website www.mearemanor.com, or you can contact us directly with your enquiry. There is a variety of wildlife and birds and best of all you might get a gilmpse of an otter or two!

All rooms are ensuite and well equipped. Complementary port and sherry is offered on arrival. Please contact us directly to discuss restaurant reservations, as prior notice is always required. The Manor has a pretty garden for guests plus ample parking and secure storage for bicycles.
