As this was a hotel we expected dinner to be available every night but it never was. In the afternoons and evenings no one was around so could not get a drink from the bar.

Our rooms were on the third floor so a long climb. Being honest the rooms and bathrooms were a little faded but the views more than made up for it. Staff were friendly and welcoming including to a loud 3 year old. Apparently they are renovating. Read less

The North Cliff Hotel, standing in its own grounds, has some of the finest views of the North Devon coastline. It is in a peaceful position some 500 feet above sea level on the well known marine North Walk overlooking Lynmouth Bay and the beautiful Watersmeet Valley, and a 200 metre walk to Lynton.

With car parking facilities on the forecourt, the hotel is an ideal base for exploring Exmoor National Park whether it is your annual holiday or off season break. Local activities include walking, riding, tennis, and putting, and the North Cliff is ideally situated for exploring the coastline and Exmoor National Park.

The road in front of the hotel forms part of The South West Coastal Path and the remarkable Valley of the Rocks is a 2-mile walk. The famous water powered Cliff Railway linking Lynton and Lynmouth passes within a few feet of the hotel and is accessed via the stepped garden. After a day spent exploring Exmoor or the coast, be it walking or touring, you will be ready to relax and enjoy a drink on the terrace or at the bar and a home cooked meal in our restaurant, which has magnificent sea and coastal views.

Please Note: We are a No-Smoking property. Children of all ages are very welcome and if you like walking with your dog they are made welcome as well. Check-In time: 1400 and Check-Out time: 1100.
Environmental Statement
The North Cliff Hotel tries to minimise its environmental impact by using energy efficient lightbulbs, recycling all waste and using locally sourced produce for meals. Instead of replacing towels daily, they are replaced only when left in the bath by guests, thus reducing our washing load.
