Response from Ty Castell - Home of the Kingfisher:
This couple arrived on push bikes on a tight budget. Ty Castell promotes a quiet chill out holiday in peacefull Towy Valley. There are plenty of places to visit, see www.ty-castell.co.uk, however transport is needed to reach some of them. There are numerous cycle paths/walks on the doorstep,1 public house,1 restaurant all within walking distance plus Ty Castell offers a full a la carte menu. Costs sadly will dictate what you can do, room with or without balcony and where you can afford to eat.

Ty Castell - Home of the Kingfisher is the closest 4 star accommodation offering evening meals to The National Botanical Garden of Wales with the Historic Aberglasney Gardens 10 minutes away, offering its visitors hotel-style comfort and facilities of a very high standard, with a genuinely friendly, informal and personal touch. Ty Castell – Home of the Kingfisher is situated on the banks of the river Towy and in the heart of the Carmarthenshire countryside, centrally located for all major attractions and towns surrounded by lakes, legends and castles, seaside’s and museums with many walks and cycle ways on the doorstep as well as being ideal for Carmarthen & Llandeilo Shows and Antiques fares.

The rooms are modern and extremely comfortable with panoramic views, gleaming bathroom en-suites, and beds with crisp, luxurious linen. Rooms include a TV with Freeview, wireless internet connection, hair dryers and the usual tea/coffee making facilities. A wide choice of freshly prepared evening meals using local produce from a nearby farm is available and we cater for those with special diets where we can. As the evening shadows draw across the countryside, candles are lit in the dining room. In the growing dusk you may be lucky enough to see bats, or an otter, or a barn owl silently surveying his territory, sights that restore the soul and make you feel part of Nature and a real world again.

Fishing is very much part of the local culture in West Wales, so little wonder that Ty Castell has a kingfisher as its symbol. Spend some time in the solitude and peace of this green, remote region where dairy herds graze on some of the best grassland in the British Isles; where the peregrine, red kite and buzzard live; where campion thrives at the side of winding lanes and where steam trains run on rails that thread through ancient Celtic woodland.
