The room was quite good with plenty of hot water; the breakfast was very good.
Dislikes:
The approach to our room was very poor: a steep outside (though covered) metal staircase, rather like a fire escape. In the room there was only one chair and no lighting over the table.

The White Hart was a great find for a literally last minute, high season booking. The room was large, clean and very quiet for city centre. The staff were kind and helpful - insisting on providing our booked dinner in spite of our unexpectedly late arrival. It was good too - excellent steak and ribs. Only slight quibble was the almost empty buffet containers when we arrived for breakfast (admittedly late!) but I'm sure additional eggs and bacon would have been provided if we'd asked. Read less

Large, quiet, clean room, helpful staff and great location next to Cathedral and close to Bishops Palace. Also has residents' parking, which is really useful in the city centre.
Dislikes:
No. Shower room was a bit tired but it was clean and did the job.

given as 'full en suite' but had a shower. The shower head was not ajustable nor did it hold itself up. It had to be hand held which was just not acceptable.
The first night we were kept awake by banging doors and someone snoring in the room above. The 2nd night was worse. Read less

The situation was good. The staff were very nice and helped as much as they could.
Dislikes:
We left a list in our room and see criticism above. We left a note with reception that a notice should be placed in the room above no16 requesting the shower room light to be turned off when not used.

The White Hart Hotel is a fantastic hotel that was built in the 15th century, which maintains many of its original features yet has been modernised without losing any of its character or charm.
The 15 bedrooms are situated at the rear of the hotel, giving you peace and quiet, yet you are still in the heart of England's smallest city. Our acclaimed bedrooms are individually decorated whilst still featuring some of the more interesting historical features of the building.
Located in the centre of Wells, it is close to all major tourist attractions. Wells Cathedral is opposite the hotel and the popular Bishops Palace & Vicars Close are in close proximity. Wookey Hole Cave is just 2 miles away and the world famous Cheddar Gorge is only 5 miles away. The spiritual Glastonbury is also just 5 miles away. The historic city of Bath is just a 45 minute drive. We are located on the West & East Mendip Way making us an ideal stay for walkers and cyclists alike.
This family owned and managed accommodation is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful county of Somerset. Cycling and walking breaks can be arranged with help from the friendly staff.
