The Crown Inn dates back to 1739, when two separate dwellings were altered to make the one building as you see today. Back in December 2006 we had a chimney survey done here and found out that the design of the once communal chimney dates the original dwellings back to pre 1530.

I stayed at in like this in summer this year and they charged me more than double of the price Crown charged. The standard of Crown was far much better. The room and bath room were very clean and all facilities you would need were there. Staffs were very attentive. Breakfast was excellently cooked and service was excellent. Overall it’s a very high standard small hotel. I do recommend to anyone as this is the best in I’ve ever stayed in UK. Read less

It got very hot at night in the room and I couldn't control the radiator. But I opened the windows for a while to cool it down, so it was no problem.

The Crown Inn is said to have two resident friendly ghosts.
We have a selection of double, twin and single en-suite rooms all newly refurbished, reasonably priced and breakfast is inclusive.
Here at The Crown we proudly host regular live music, we host two Beer Festivals each year, one in April - St Georgesfest and one in October - Oktoberfest. Both are now in their third year and are great weeks of Live Music and Real Ales & Ciders.
We have two domino teams offering people the chance to get involved with a pub tradition on every Monday Night from September to April each year.
In our bar we serve up to 6 real ales, 1 real cider, 1 real perry and have been awarded status of Rutland CAMRA Branch Pub Of The Season Summer 2009 & Autumn 2010.
And now we are Rutland CAMRA Pub of the Year 2010 !
We are in The Good Beer Guide 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012.
Also we have a wide range of single malt whiskies, continental beers and ciders.
Food is served in our cosy restaurant or main bar from 12noon – 2.30pm and 6.30pm – 9.00pm, except Tuesdays. All our food is homemade, wherever possible, cooked to order and locally sourced.
Rutland Water is well sign posted on the A6003 towards Oakham, and is 6 miles from The Crown. Eyebrook Reservoir is off the A6003 towards Kettering and is 2 miles from us. Both are famed for fishing trout. The National Bird Watching Fair takes place at Rutland Water and regular sailing events.
You are assured of a warm traditional welcome.
