Attractive rooms with nice touches e.g. fruit and small home made cakes each day. Real tea and coffee! No bags. Also fresh milk and water supplied.
Dislikes:
Small en-suite and shower that was either too hot or too cold.
Our arrival time was 4.00pm but no-one was there so had to wander around for two hours before we could book in.

There is great attention to detail, from little bits of furniture to bowls of fruit in the room; the owners have thought about almost everything and are wonderfully friendly and welcoming.
Dislikes:
That we didn't have the opportunity to sample the great menu in the restaurant by not having enough time!

Thank you for your positive review and we are very glad that you enjoyed your stay at St.Michaels.We may well in the future put telephones in the rooms if it is not too disruptive to the decor,or maybe a comunal phone in the landing lounge area. St Michaels Restaurant and B & B offres superb Visit Britain 4 Star Rated ensuite accommodation in stylish individually decorated rooms in the beautiful town of Painswick in the heart of the Cotswolds. Painswick is an historic town known as 'The Queen of the Cotswolds'.
It is surrounded by delightful countryside and National Trust woodlands with 140 designated footpaths for walkers. Painswick Beacon has magnificent views and an 18-hole golf course. The Slad valley is well noted for its wild life and flowers. In the early spring the Rococco Gardens are breathtakingly carpeted with snowdrops.
The Cotswold Way path goes through the village, which marks its midway point. Painswick is also a central location for day trips to Cheltenham, Gloucester, Bath, Stratford-upon-Avon, Bourton on the Water, Moreton in Marsh, Bristol and London. Family-run restaurant, St. Michael's, has a seasonally changing menu of English food cooked using French techniques. There is a wide selection of wine also available. Guests can also enjoy the beautiful intimate courtyard garden.
