Abbey Guest House is a family-run, quiet, 4 star rated guest house. It offers immaculately furnished and decorated en-suite rooms and prides itself on its high level of service and standard of accommodation.
The guest house is situated in the peaceful village of Abingdon, just off the A34, 6 miles from the historic city of Oxford famous for its sights, colleges and museums. There are two local pubs within 200 yards of the guest house that both supply good quality food for evening meals. Alternatively a 10-15-minute walk into the centre of town gives visitors access to numerous other restaurants and pubs.
The location provides excellent transport links to Culham, Didcot, Marcham and Oxford. Off-road car parking and Wi-Fi internet access available.
Environmental Statement
We strive continuously to ensure that, as far as possible, we consider the impact of what we do on our environment and that we have as little waste as possible. Currently we do the following:
Toiletries: We now supply our guests with a much more expensive product, Lux Shampoo / Shower Gel and Dove Cream Wash, in dispensers in the shower and by the basin. This enables each guest to use as much as s/he would like whilst eliminating packaging and waste entirely.
Towels: towels are only changed daily, if required and requested, otherwise they will be changed after 4 days (with the bed linen) or if extremely wet.
Showers v baths: all the bedrooms have been fitted with en-suite showers to save water. From July 2009 there will be a separate bathroom containing just a bath for guests that prefer to use this facility.
Light bulbs: Where possible our light bulbs are saver lamps, with up to 80% energy saving compared with traditional bulbs. Mains powered external lights have a light sensor.
