The hotel was lovely and the location superb.

Room was nice but totally spoilt by the smell coming from the sink- think blocked drains and sulphur and you're there.

When I mentioned it the next morning, whilst it was acknowledged there was no mention of any kind of part refund and I was quite surprised about that.

I honestly can't recommend the room because of the smell. Read less

Dislikes:
As the young lady was showing me to my room the radiator cover fell off catching the back of leg and causing a smal cut.

In 1213, after the Norman Conquest, the wooded land we now know as Minchinhampton Common was confiscated and given to l`Abbaye aux Dames in Caen. Some 800 years later Christophe and his business partner Nick continue to add to this fascinating Anglo/French story.

The Old Lodge itself dates back some 400 years and is reportedly a former hunting lodge to Henry VIII. The most recent project and the boys only hotel to date.

The Lodge has magnificent views and an envied position at the centre not only of the common with its free ranging cattle but of Minchinhampton Golf Course.

The stunning restaurant has floor to ceiling windows that look directly onto the common and the professional yet relaxed service is delivered by Chris Wright and his team.

Recently refurbished, all rooms have contemporary decoration with stylish furnishings and luxury linen and bedding. Each room comes equipped with wireless broadband, DVD, and digital LCD TV as standard. All bathrooms feature either bath and/or power shower.

The Old Lodge makes an instant impression. Individually designed rooms, large restaurant, local ales, and roaring log fires in winter guarantee to make your stay a memorable one.
