Likes:
Warm room and large bath - particularly welcome in cold, wet weather! Quite luxurious furnishings; very helpful attitude from staff.
Dislikes:
It's not easy to find good places to eat in the evening around Falkirk (although there is one nice bistro and it's easy to find fish and chips etc.). It may be best to go to Edinburgh for the evening.

Your resident hosts, Betty and Bede, have created a warm and friendly atmosphere at Ashbank. Through their Middle-East travels, they have spent many years within a multi-cultural background and offer a wealth of experience.

Ashbank offers superb panoramic views to the Wallace Monument, Airth Castle and the Ochil Hills and countryside that was made famous in the film ‘Braveheart’. With many original Victorian features including ornamental cornicing, decorative flooring in the hall and an oak fireplace in the dining room, it has welcomed guests from all corners of the world.
All guest rooms are en-suite. Ample private off-street parking is available.

For the more active, Falkirk attracts members of the Rambler's Association and the CTC with cycle hire facilities and many fine walks nearby. The Union Canal and the Falkirk Wheel are only a short distance away, as is the Falkirk Monument and Callendar House. Visit Linlithgow Palace and Loch which is populated by many different breeds of wildfowl and a leisurely walk round the loch takes you through grazing sheep. Linlithgow Palace is the birth place of Mary, Queen of Scots.

Ashbank is accessed from the M9 motorway at Junction 5, which is 3 minutes away. Polmont train station is only a short walk away and is just a 20 minute journey to Edinburgh, Stirling or Glasgow.
Environmental Statement
All refuse is recycled by the owner into various bins and bottles are taken to the bottle bank. We aim to replace soiled towels with fresh clean ones only if the guest wishes it.
