Likes:
Nothing this time. Ruth behind the bar is always a pleasure.
Dislikes:
See my review above and add to it, that I realise I should have said something about the injury inducing single bed but I was too tired to do so.
Hopefully next time things will be back to normal

"Great Stay"
We enjoyed our stay at the Crags Hotel, we booked the 4 poster room and it was clean, cosy and comfortable. The room overlooks the main street and is directly above the bar. We were not disturbed by any street noise or as the hotel suggests any potential noise from the bar. The bar had just reopened after being renovated and although it still required a few finishing touches, it had a great atmosphere. The locals do make you very welcome and you can't help become involved in conversations Read less

Likes:
Friendly staff, lovely 'old fashioned' bedroom yet modern and impeccable bathroom.
Dislikes:
The room had no option to adjust the heating - and could have been warmer.

The Crags Hotel, fully licensed, is situated on the main street of Callander in central Scotland. Here at the Crags we like to keep it simple. We don't claim to be a boutique hotel, just a simple old fashioned Scottish Inn. All of our rooms are clean, welcoming and very, very comfortable. It is a small and cosy hotel and is the ideal place to relax while taking in the breathtaking beauty of the Scottish countryside. A full Scottish breakfast is served, as well as cereal, toast, fruit juice, tea and coffee. We are happy to cater for alternative tastes given prior notice. Grilled Scottish kippers and porridge are highly recommended.

Our public bar offers a relaxing and lively place to experience local life in Callander, and for those wanting something a little quieter and more private we have a 'snug' bar where guests can sit and read. All of our bedrooms are equipped with ensuite facilities, colour television, hairdryer, coffee and tea-making facilities. Private parking is available free of charge. Discounts are available on stays of 3 nights or more.

The picturesque town of Callander is often referred to as "The Gateway to the Trossachs", a beautiful region of Scotland, once home of the legendary Rob Roy. Callander is only an hour drive away from Scotland's major cities, Glasgow and Edinburgh, yet its laid-back atmosphere and the surrounding hills make the city seem like days away.
