We had pretty high expectations of the hotel, but rather than boutique we found it rather shabby - threadbare carpets, curling wallcoverings, towels & bathrobes far from fluffy, room wasn't cleaned during our stay, breakfast was amateurish at best - lack of teaspoons, serving spoons, butter dishes recycled from previous days, buffet selection limited/poor and breakfast was not avaialble at 7:30 am on Monday morning until someone went to the shop to get milk. Location was convenient.
Dislikes:
Apart from the above comments, the epiome of the experience was having to sign the credit card slip using the inside of a biro. Definitely not high end.

"would not have paid full price"
Booked one night at st judes at a reduced January rate, and to be honest I'm glad I didn't pay full rate
Room 5 was on the top floor with a view of bath street, the room itself was a little tired and could do with a freshener up
The shower was too low for anyone over 5 and a half foot and the bathrobe and towels had long since lost their fluffiness
Breakfast was poor, with salt being the main ingredient in both the very dry porridge and the runny scrambled eggs
Overall disappointing Read less
Likes:
Location, near good pubs and restaurants, minutes from city centre and a short taxi ride from the west end
Comfy bed
Dislikes:
Breakfast very poor
Place could do with a freshen up and a little bit of dusting wouldn't go amiss
Minibar prices were absolutely ridiculous
There was a cafetiere in the room, but no coffee

Saint Judes caters to those who burn the candle at both ends - to those who enjoy the finer things in life but can do without the stuffy formalities that usually acompany them.

Designed by The (award-winning) Curious Group, no two rooms at Saint Judes are alike...

But they do have the following in common:
• Twin or King-sized beds with, goose-down duvets
• Private bathroom
• Plush bathrobes
• Powerful hairdryer
• Signature room service, extending to cocktails-on-demand & in-room high tea
• iPod docking station & CD player
• 32” LCD TV with Sky+
• Working desk & Wi-Fi
• Printer & Fax machine on request
• Not to mention the odd surprise here and there...

But apart from that they’re all decidedly different.

Downstairs you'll find a space dedicated to the ancient arts of drinking and dining. Our Executive Chef changes the menu seasonally to ensure the best flavours all year round. We also have a pretty extensive cocktail menu and a bar staff dedicated to getting your drink just right (not that we like to brag...).

We also through a mean party, with weekend club nights as well as private parties & meetings in our dedicated events spaces.
