"very Disappointing"
The Carvery beef was dry and hard (reheated)like eating cardboard. I can't eat wheat and so couldn't have the Yorkshire Pudding but one person in our party had to leave theirs because it was so hard and reheated which is unacceptable. I cannot eat wheat or potatoes and so asked for extra Vegetables which I did not receive. Breakfast not very good for gluten free people as I could not eat the cereal or toast and the portions are not large enough for the food you can eat. Not enough staff either Read less

The Carvery, the stafing levels and the choice on the menu for people with a food intolerance

"Relaxing evening"
The minute we entered the hotel we started to relax. The checking-in was so easy and friendly. Our room looked over the firth of forth to Edinburgh. We had a small balcony and if it had been summer time we would have enjoyed sitting outside with a nice whisky. The room had a four poster bed, all the usual facilities. We booked dinner, the menu was very good and had a good variety of food. When the food came it was excellent as was the the service. Lovely relaxing stay, would certainly go back. Read less

More Information
Our hotel is based on the outskirts of Burntisland, in the Kingdom of Fife. Nestling in over 2 acres of gardens and woodland and uniquely situated to allow panoramic views of the Firth of Forth to Edinburgh. Our superb location and genuine hospitality ensures that many of our customers have become familiar faces. So whether you are looking for the hustle and bustle of Edinburgh, a base to explore the unrivalled beauty of Fife or to visit our restaurant or lounge - you are guaranteed a warm welcome at the Kingswood Hotel. Built circa 1850 by the Johnstone family, sugar planters from Jamaica, the Kingswood remained a private residence until around 1930. In 1986 the hotel was purchased by Rankin and Kathryn Bell who have personally managed it ever since. The Kingswood was sympathetically extended in 1990 to include the Alexander Suite and Conservatory. Further extensions and major alterations were completed in 2003/2004 doubling the size of the Restaurant, Alexander Suite, Reception and Lounge Area. Two additional Suites and a ground floor bedroom suitable for disabled guests were created at this time. From the grounds of the Kingswood can be seen the monument commemorating the place where Alexander III, the last Celtic King of Scotland, fell from his horse to his death. With a choice of non-smoking rooms, some with balcony and sea view, you will find each room individually decorated and equipped with a range of toiletries, colour television, radio alarm, trouser press and hairdryer
