The location and the friendly staff.
Dislikes:
Room 14 requires the cold water bath tap to be fixed. There is so little water coming out that it hardly can reach the shower.

The original house, which was built in the 19th century as a private residence, has been modernised to create a stylish and comfortable hotel. There are wonderful views stretching for miles over the Solway Firth toward the Lakeland hills. Most of the eighteen bedrooms overlook the sea or Powfoot Championship Golf Course. Secure online accommodation booking is available.
Food is styled by our Head Chef, Andrew Kelso, and his team providing an ever-changing mix of traditional and modern using the best local suppliers for meat, game, fish and shellfish. Informal dining is available in the Bunker Bar and Conservatory whilst the Grill Room provides fine dining.
Our wine list offers value and quality from Europe and the New World. You will find the bar well stocked with malt whiskies, Belhaven Ales and lagers. During the summer months a different cask conditioned real ale is featured every week.
