"Could have been better"
I wasn't given the entry code. My room was locked. I rang the '24 hour reception' stating that there was a problem as my room was locked. It was a recorded message. I left my number and aasked to be contacted immediately. I'm still waiting nearly 24 hours later. I ended up gently forcing the door open. This had obviously been done by several other guests as the door 'gave' quite easily. Thank goodness I had no valuables with me! The room was nicely decorated, very homely and warm. Read less
Likes:
Comfortable rroom once I managed to get in to it.
Dislikes:
The embarassment of being locked out of my reserved room with no reception desk and nobody answering the telephone.
Response from Lichfield House:
Regretably the booking arrived after our reception closed at 19:00 and therefore no confirmation with door code was sent. Changes have been made to our system to avoid re-occurance of this in the future.

Lichfield House is a small and friendly 4 Star, Grade 2 listed regency building in the Brunswick area of the city. Centrally located Lichfield House is just over a mile from both Brighton and Hove train stations, (5 minutes by taxi and about £6.00) and a short walk from Brighton’s Churchill Square shopping mall. Brighton Marina Village is a little further away at 3.4 miles, and both Shoreham and Gatwick airports are easily accessible, being 6.7 and 27.5 miles away respectively. Egyptian cotton towels, crisp white bed linen, Gilchrist & Soames toiletries and LCD flat screen TVs in all rooms. Free wireless internet.

The rooms are individually designed, stylishly combining the original features of this regency town house with modern comfort. Fresh contemporary fittings and colours compliment this. All rooms are modern with ensuite bath/shower or shower.
