"Lovely hotel in a beautiful setting!"

This hotel is situated at the end of a really nice Welsh valley. Brilliant for getting away from it all but close enough for easy access. Good for walking & cycling in the nearby Berwyn Mountains. There is also another pub close by to provide a bit of variety if staying for more than a couple of nights. Read less

The West Arms enjoys an idyllic setting in the foothills of the Berwyn Mountain, a rural paradise - an historic 16th Century building with considerable character. An olde inn with slate flagged floors and inglenook fireplaces. Family run with gourmet food and award winning chefs, it boasts an AA 4 Star Inn rating.

In addition to the many castles and places of historic interest which abound the area, the valley offers many activities and pursuits such as walking (led), mountain biking, pony trekking, golfing, fishing, canoeing, rafting and climbing to name a few. From Chirk to Llanarmon Dyffryn Ceiriog, the Ceiriog Valley Walk is made up of 12 miles and seven separate stages of fairly gentle hiking through pastures and woodland, along riverbanks and ancient trails, via villages and hamlets, all set amidst the peace and tranquillity of some of the most stunning countryside Britain has to offer.

The West Arms has roaring inglenook log fires, low ceilings and undulating floors plus an award winning restaurant with two AA rosettes, plus entries in the Good Food Guide and Which? magazine.
