Charlie and Kate Dickinson welcome you to Sandhurst Farm Forge. Rural accomodation on a working forge.Charlie is a third generation Blacksmith,producing traditional and artistic forged work to an extremely high standard. Being within the North Kent Downs, we are ideally situated for walking and exploring. There are several walking routes locally, Including 4 wonderful circular walking routes in step by step leaflet format connecting Faversham to the wider countryside. One of these walks is through our own Syndale Valley, taking in the villages of Doddington, Newnham and Eastling. Touring the North Kent Downs AONB,and our local Medieval Market Town of Faversham only 15 mins away, and the coast at Whitstable approx35 mins.We are surrounded by diverse landscapes.There is easy access to the M2, M20, (M25) the Channel and London. There are two double rooms, both with bed settee, allowing for use as a twin. Both rooms are shower en-suite, have T.V and are centrally heated. Tea and coffee are available in the rooms or in the adjoining kitchen/breakfast room. There is plenty of off road parking at the Forge and guests are welcome to wander amongst the ducks hens and rabbits. The hens provide the eggs for breakfast!! Please note: We are a non smoking B&B. Children are welcome but due to the nature of the separate rooms children should be over 14 years of age. No hen or stags. Pets are not allowed.
Check in is normally 4pm-9pm ,unless a previous arrangement is made.Weekend check-in for those attending weddings can by arrangement be from12 noon/13:00 . Check out in all cases please by 10:30.
Environmental Statement
We are a tourism business with a concern for the environment.We look at what we buy, the energy we use,and try to minimise our waste .Low energy lightbulbs are used wherever feasable.Outside lights are worked on a senser basis with a time control to keep use of electricity to a minimum.Radiators are thermostatically controlledThe heating system is timer controlled,Loft Insulation is in place,and all windows are double glazed, and walls are dry lined with insulation board.Showers with eco buttons are used instead of baths to save water.We use lower temperature wash settings where possible,and check regularily for dripping taps.We do have a towel aggreement whereby guests are asked to save towels not needed to use to one side,and keep the same towel during their stay by allowing drying and re-use.We have water barrels at various points aroun the property for watering plantpots .We use chlorine Free cleaning products ,i.e Ecover. Re- cycled paper is used throughout.We re-cycle.
