On arrival we were told that we had been upgraded to the Four Poster room, on entering the room we were very disappointed, in reality the room didnt look like it did on the internet. There were dirty marks on the walls, cupboard you wouldn't hang your clothes, smelt and was dirty, VERY dusty on the four poster bed. No dressing table or facilities to do hair or makeup. And to top it off the BED seemed as if it had not been replaced in years, all the springs were pertruding through the mattress. Read less

the only really slight dislike was the steep hill you have to walk up from the town centre but thats just me being lazy

Centrally situated a five minute walk from Whitby town centre and railway station. The famous Whitby Abbey is easily accessible, with its 199 steps and enjoy the spectacular views from the cliff tops. Take a sea trip or just enjoy Whitby's award winning sandy beaches. Sample some of the many restaurants and pubs that cater for different tastes and pockets. Whitby is also well placed for exploring the surrounding moors in particular the heartbeat area of Goatland.
This recently renovated Victorian property has been tastefully decorated to a high standard retaining many of its original features. All the rooms here at Hillcrest are tastefully decorated in a modern style. Each has a king size double bed and all have ensuite facilities. All rooms are strictly no smoking. With tea and coffee facilities and a television, they provide an ideal base to rest and relax after exploring Whitby and the North Yorkshire countryside.
