The Avondale is made up of two Edwardian houses with letting rooms on two floors which have been tastefully converted. The Guest House is centrally heated and inter-connected on all floors and there is a stair lift to both floors. The house has many original features including the fireplaces in the dining and sitting rooms and the wonderful stained glass in the hall. Jane & Martin Home are the owners who live on the premises and we want you to feel at home in our home. We have tried to create a friendly relaxed ambiance to enable you to get the most from your stay. If you need anything just ask. All the staff are friendly and well informed of local events and places to visit.

All rooms are newly renovated with individual thermostatically controlled radiators. Guests can select the room to match their budget from family, double or twin en-suite rooms to standard doubles and singles with shared bathrooms.

Our breakfasts are fabulous! We have a wide range of choices all products are locally sourced (when available) and are cooked to order. Please let us know when booking if you have any special dietary needs. Our cream teas are also very popular and can be booked at breakfast for the same afternoon. The pretty and sunny front patio is very popular in the summer for tea coffee or even an aperatif!

We have a wide selection of information leaflets in the hall with local restaurant and pub menus to help you decide where to eat. We have several regular walking groups and cyclists who return annually. We enjoy providing cream teas and evening meals for groups by prior arrangement.
