Felt this was bit stingy & could have been made clearer during booking process. I paid alot extra for the room because I had my dog & it wouldn't have been too much trouble to throw a bit of bacon in. Reception was rather cold and owner had wrong personality to be in hospitality? Have experienced much warmer hosts in the past and on this basis wouldn't recommend b&b. Read less

A double room was booked yet guests arrived as a family and also with a dog, neither of which was mentioned prior. We do NOT accept dogs in all our rooms and to accommodate this guest when we noticed on arrival their number had to move a guest who had specifically asked for the room that we needed to put the family now in. We have seen much waste over the years from the majority of people who do not want a cooked breakfast. We offer our breakfast as extra which also means lower prices for rooms

I am sorry noone could be found? We live on site and the internal bell works until 10pm in the evening? Was this rung and was this before 10 pm? having been notified of this in the morning I did check the room folder and all the information including password for access was in the folder. I am happy you enjoyed your stay with us nonethel;ess and we look forward to seeing you again

The staff was friendly an helpful. Hubert House is just one minute away from the ferry terminals, but you can reach the city an dover castle on foot without any problems
Dislikes:
Breakfast was okay, but nothing special. But we got a big pot of coffee

Hubert House is quite simply unique! A sophisticated Georgian townhouse beautifully restored and decorated with period furnishings throughout. Hubert House offers more options and choice than most accommodation providers with room only options, a superb Bistro open most evenings for residents and non residents, breakfasts to go, breakfasts in bed, room service, the list is endless.
We want all our guests to feel special and relaxed. So we do our best to cater for every need we can think of. DVD players in all our rooms, digital freeview TVs, bathrobes, dental packs, sewing kits, toiletries, room service menus, what more could you ask for?
Not only our our standards and services far above the competition but our location is just brilliantly too!!! (nestling beneath the castle, just moments from both the beach, town centre, the ferry terminals and yet with plenty of guest parking)... ...as far as we know we are the only B&B with our own Bistro (open to guests and non-residents alike) with a gorgeous sunlit terrace.
Every day we bake fresh French Viennoiserie (delicious croissants, pain au chocolat etc) for the breakfast buffet. Special diets catered for.... please just ask! Award winning Kentish juices, real coffee, artisan teas, fresh fruit, yoghurts, cereals and Swiss Muesli. Fancy something hot or a treat see our breakfast menu for delights such as hot fresh porridge with maple syrup, Scottish smoked salmon with scrambled eggs or our "Full Monty", a full English with only the finest ingredients. Our buffet breakfast is inclusive in all our prices, hot items are available at small supplements.
Also, we have a fantastic wine & drinks list, so (weather permitting) you can just relax with a tasty drop on the terrace... Hubert House has long been associated with channel swimmers and have even commissioned our own relay teams.

Some of the major steps we have taken to reduce our impact have been:*We will ensure the responsible use of energy throughout the business including energy conservation (turning off unused appliances) and energy efficiency (use of low voltage and energy efficient electricals, such as motion sensitive lighting and timed switches).*We source local and seasonal produce to minimise carbon emissions from transportation and promote local fare.*We seek to source and use fair trade and organic products whenever possible.*We promote and encourage good environmental practises not just within our business but also outwardly with the suppliers we use.*We use eco-friendly chemicals for all our cleaning needs wherever appropriate.*We have for several years sponsored a child through “Plan international” foundation, and also have numerous other charitable interests.*We train all staff in our policy so they actively adhere to our policy and understand why we take the measures we do
