We stayed 3 nights at the Harrop Fold Farm, went for a walk alomg the Gritstone Trail for 2 days, then returned for a 4th night. It felt like we were "coming home" when we returned and we look forward to coming back another time. Read less

The accommodation was comfortable, the food was excellent and Susan and David were excellent hosts that made us feel at home. They even have high speed broadband Wi-Fi to stay connected!

Harrop Fold is set within its own 20 acres of land and visitors are welcome to walk along the many footpaths that cross the property.
A footpath from the door reaches the Gritstone Trail. There are two lovely brooks - Mellow Brook and Harrop Brook, which are visited by a great variety of wildlife, and there is a huge diversity of bird life to be seen around the farm.
Harrop Fold Farm is a smallholding nestling in a wooded gritstone valley on the western side of the Peak District National Park and has magnificent views over the Cheshire Plain to the Welsh Mountains. It has a courtyard of attractive traditional stone buildings that are of architectural and archaeological interest and there is evidence of a Roman road passing through. Archives also suggest a tannery at Harrop Fold Farm was used by Bonnie Prince Charlie as he made his way to Derby to attempt to seize the English crown.
