We were welcomed by a lovely log fire on entering the Alvanley Arms. We had come for a break and to celebrate our wedding anniversay. The room was lovely, the bed very confortable and all was very clean. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We had a lovely meal (valentine special) followed by a few drinks in the bar (in front of the cosy fire) The following day we enjoyed a very good full breakfast followed by a visit to see the Shire horses next door. Enjoyed our stay very much in a cosy, friendly atmosphere. Most liked the visit to their Shire Horse Centre for free as we were residing there. Well worth visiting to see the different animals.
Dislikes:
Nothing to comment here as we enjoyed our stay.

The oak beamed bar offers a wide range of hand pulled cask ales, a large selection of wines & malt whiskies along with a welcoming log fire. Choose from a selection of traditional country food and contemporary fine dining as well as an imaginative specials board, which changes daily. Our menu changes every few weeks to reflect seasonal availability.
Residents of the Alvanley Arms benefit from free entry to Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre which also owned by us and is immediately adjacent.
