Clean and friendly.Rooms well stocked with drinks, biscuits,water, which made you feel that the proprietors wanted you to enjoy your stay. Breakfasts excellent.Lots of good eating places near by.
Dislikes:
Unfortunately being right next to train line meant it could be very noisy at times, even quite late and early which did affect sleep up to a point.Triple glazing might help with noise pollution.

Bacon like it should be and free wi-fi - very handy. Appreciated the little touches (biscuits in the room) and friendly owner.
Dislikes:
Breakfast choices are ordered the night before on a form (which is fine) - forms not always available!

Welcome to Anton Guest House, an early Edwardian (1905) Gentleman's residence. We aim to offer you the best of 4 star comfort and service whilst retaining much of the original character of the property, which we have sympathetically refurbished. Come and enjoy Edwardian style ensuites, new decor, carpets, comfortable beds and furnishings. You will find that we have thought of the smallest detail to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The rooms also offer period furniture and original fireplaces.
We are conveniently located in a residential area which is a 10-12 minute walk from the town centre. The historical Abbey Church, home of the fictional Brother Cadfael, is just around the corner, along with plenty of restaurants, pubs, supermarkets and a multi-screen cinema. Other attractions nearby include Shrewsbury Castle and the world heritage site of Ironbridge is only 14 miles away.
Breakfast is included in the tariff, you will be served at your own table in our dining room at a time to suit you, up to 9.30am. We offer a cooked breakfast of your choice, and cater for vegetarian, vegan, low fat or coeliac diets. We use locally sourced food of good quality. A refrigerator and microwave are located in the dining room for your use. At any time of day you may help yourself to chilled bottled water (summer months May-August), fresh milk or fruit juices. We offer fast, reliable WiFi internet access free of charge and digital Freeview TV with DVD is in all guest rooms.
We keep packaging to the minimum during shopping trips, and take our own shopping bags to re-use. Where possible we use local producers and suppliers to reduce food miles. We recycle drink cartons, bottles, glass, plastic, paper, cardboard and tins.
