"A peaceful break"
We were looking for a quiet, country break and found it at Measwalter. It was useful that we arrived before dark so we were able to follow the signage without a problem. Dry weather is more or less essential to really benefit from a stay here. Read less
Likes:
The isolation among the hills and the pleasure of seeing the birds from the bedroom window feeding in the garden. Also the very friendly welcome and helpful service Joy gave us.
Dislikes:
The only downside was the drive up to the house. It was so uneven for the car to manipulate made worse by the fact thatrain had left large puddles so the depth of the holes could not be known

We offer comfortable bed and breakfast and a warm friendly welcome in this 17th century non-working farmhouse situated in the quiet and picturesque valley of Heol Senni 9 miles west of Brecon.

Brecon is a town where you'll enjoy losing yourself...not only in the narrow streets and passageways lined with Georgian and Jacobean shopfronts, but in the sense of timelessness about the place. Separating these last two ranges is the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, 33 miles of scenic waterway, perfect for boating, fishing and easy towpath walks. We are surrounded by breath taking scenery, a haven for wildlife including the Red Kite, Siskins and the Red start, peace and quiet and an ideal place to unwind and relax in complete tranquility.

Ever since the Iron Age, this magical spot at the confluence of the Usk and Honddu rivers and sheltered by the mountains has been prized and protected. Now the commercial centre of the southern part of Powys, Brecon remains first and foremost a traditional Mid Wales market town - as you will see on any Tuesday or Friday!

Tastefully decorated and comfortable en suite and standard bedrooms with H&C vanity units, remote control colour TV, tea/coffee facilities, magnificent views across the Senni Valley. Home Cooking. Excellent touring, fishing, walking, pony trekking, hang gliding and birdwatching area.
