The location of the hotel is ideal for being in the centre of Downham Market - however found out the hard way it is a 15-20 minute walk from the station (not ideal in snow!). Hotel staff all extrememely friendly and if you had any problems, happy to help. Room was spacious (double, ensuite) however was situated above front door so could hear people talking outside and it opening/closing alot in my room. Read less

The shower head was poor with low pressure. the staff are friendly and keen to help. food is good overall apart from the butter packets and marmalade sachets at breakfast which always seem a bit mean. The hotel has eleven letting bedrooms all with en suite facilities. This accommodation comprises of two four poster rooms both with Jacuzzi bath, four double bedded rooms, three twin bedded rooms, one family room with three beds but the capacity to take an extra bed and one single bedded room.
Personal service and sheer dedication from a wonderful team of staff, coupled with the enthusiasm of the proprietors are the keynotes of the success of the Castle Hotel.
