Really enjoyed this litle hotel, although the presence of house pets and others could be off putting to some, the hotel does say that it is 'pet friendly'. While the food and the rooms are superb, the outside and gardens are no longer at their best.
However the owner is also the chef, and his menus, together with a reasonable and eccentric wine list, made our visit most enjoyable. We would return should we need to stay in the area again. Read less

Situated in Trefriw, near Betws-y-Coed on the northern edge of Snowdonia in North Wales and overlooking the lovely Conwy Valley, Yr Hafod (The Summer Dwelling in Welsh), was formerly a farmhouse and dates from the Middle Ages. This non-smoking country house style guest accommodation in Snowdonia is an ideal location for a relaxing break or holiday in North Wales. Bed and breakfast (B&B) accommodation is provided, although most guests also take advantage of the excellent evening meals. The restaurant (The Driven Goose Bistro Bar) is open to non-residents and can cater for those on a gluten-free diet. Hafod House has set about creating a special place for guests to stay; a small informal, non-smoking country retreat away from the crowds and providing warm hospitality, with exceptional food at its heart. Children under 11 are not allowed. Dog friendly accommodation is provided.
