"Would certainly stay again and again!!"
Have stayed at Gales before and looked forward to getting there again - you are made to feel at home. Great reception, we arrived early and were able to park the car and unpack as the room was already cleared. As a family with a teenager, we need to stay together without being too squashed for space. Room had Double bed and single bed (with an additional fold-up bed if needed.) We were only staying one night and as always, it was a shame to leave. Read less
Likes:
Excellent room, exceeded all expectations. Comfortable, warm, well furnished. Spacious, unusual, full of history, creaky and quaint! Gift shop; Wine shop and excellent wine-bar and restaurant below.
Dislikes:
Car parking can be difficult in Llangollen - it is a busy place but nothing we couldn't cope with.

"Great place to stay, excellent restaurant and wine bar"
We stayed on a saturday night because we were visiting relatives in the area. The room was lovely and the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was a little small but for a one night stay it was no problem at all.
We had dinner in the wine bar that evening and the food and service were fantastic. The place was buzzing (so busy due to the xmas lights switch on) and we had to share our table with another group which we didn't mind at all. The staff were so friendly. Read less

Excellent food, comfy beds, the way they moved our car for us (parking was tricky but we just left our keys with reception - no problem), very friendly service, great location in Llangollen.
Dislikes:
The bathroom was a little small and someone started hoovering at 8ish on Sunday morning which was a bit strange!

Likes:
elderly parents thoughtfully accomodated in a ground floor room. All 4 rooms we used were very nice, decent sized bathrooms, my kids impressed by huge TV. Food in wine bar excellent.
Dislikes:
Getting checked in at 6pm, with reception at the bar in a crowded restaurant was a bit of a bun-fight, as was finding place to sit to eat. The street was noisy outside well past 11pm.

Situated in one of the oldest streets in Llangollen and a few seconds from the high street, Gales has 15 en-suite bedrooms. All our rooms are individually decorated and sympathetically restored in keeping with the historic character of the buildings.
Eight of the rooms are above the Wine Bar in a Georgian townhouse, with many original features.
The remaining rooms are in a much older timber framed building across the driveway. These rooms have exposed beams, wattle and daub walls and all have original features.
All our rooms are available as double or single occupancy, many can be used for twin or family occupancy.
All our rooms have tea and coffe making facilities, hair-dryers, direct dial telephones, widescreen televisions and wifi access.
The wood panelled Wine Bar is the award winning centre of the business. Its character is largely unchanged from the original 9 table experience back in the 70’s. It now boasts 20 tables but still works on the foundations of simple home cooked food using the best local ingredients and wine expertly picked to offer the best range and value.
Gales owes its busy informal nature to the fact that it never takes a table booking and takes orders though a bar service of friendly, knowledgeable staff. Whenever you come though the door you know you will receive the same amiable welcome.
