Confucius, he say, “The man of wisdom delights in water; the man of humanity delights in mountains.”

He ought to have gone on further to say, “... the man of checked trousers delights in 9 holes and a gin and tonic; the woman of the bathrobe delights in facials and a massage; everyone delights in good food and a great night’s sleep”.

Confucius, he clearly not been to The LODGE on the Loch of Aboyne. Shame that. Just think what wisdom and clarity the stillness of the loch and the dignity of the mountains would have inspired within him. The hubbub of 500 BC Shantung versus the majestic Cairngorms reflected in the giant’s ink spill that is the Loch of Aboyne in the 21st century? No contest.

Don’t be like Confucius and miss out. Everyone needs to retreat and welcome the simple joys back into life. There are few better places to do just that than at The LODGE on the Loch of Aboyne – 55 acres of the most breathtaking landscape on Royal Deeside.

Whilst it is hard to pull attention away from the ever changing panorama spread before The LODGE not least of which is the greeting-card beauty of the Cairngorm mountains, it is equally hard not to be mesmerised by the amazing range of dishes offered in the Osprey Restaurant and on the Osprey Deck.
The floor show that is the osprey power-diving into the loch to catch his dinner is a little bonus with our compliments.

Inspired by the harmony between loch and mountain, "Reflect Spa" at the Lodge will harmonise your mind, body and soul with treatments rooted in a fusion of Eastern and Western traditions and rituals.
Taking some time at the spa will rest the body, open the mind, nourish the soul and uplift the spirit. And it will all happen as the soothing waters of the loch lap gently against the shore below reflecting above and below, magnifying the beauty of the moment.
