The hotel is pleasant and historic, although the neighbourhood is mainly light industrial. The entrance is hard to find and parking restricted. The jailhouse bar is nice and the food well prepared, but the website promise of 'any 2 main meals for a reduced amount' turns out to be a special,and not very exciting, menu, not the menu shown on line. The rooms, sadly, are like barracks with no view. I felt that the restriction of 4 out of 5 choices for cooked breakfast was penny pinching gone mad. Read less

Too much light outside the rooms intrudes during the night.
Main car park area is not near the rooms. Access via narrow stairways and fire exits or down the main road outside the hotel.

My only criticism is that we would much prefer to have a duvet on the bed rather than blankets. Read less

The Garrison Hotel is situated within the Hillsborough Barracks, Sheffield. An ideal location for anyone wanting a relaxing and short break.
Having opened in 2001, the building is converted from what used to be the Grade II listed jail, guardhouse and ammunition building of Hillsborough Barracks. This combines an historic atmosphere with modern facilities.
The hotel has convenient access to local public transport with both the supertram and regular bus services from Hillsborough Interchange and excellent local leisure facilities. For shopaholics why not visit Meadowhall or Sheffield City Centre to pick up some bargains, or visit one of Sheffield`s many museums or attractions to relax the hours away.
Allow us to meet all of your conference requirements with our two conference suites, The Cell and The Armoury. Both rooms will cater for up to 30 people, and with a variety of packages available we are hard to beat. Alternatively our Garrison Function suite can cater for a different type of meeting or conference due to the design and adaptation of the room.
The Garrison Hotel caters for the smaller, less formal wedding day celebrations. Have the whole day here starting with the wedding breakfast for up to 60 people then move on to the evening reception for you and 120 guests, enjoy the disco out in the conservatory, to stopping over and walking refreshed to begin your new lives together.
