"A A warm welcome coupled with a comfortable and restful overnight stay."
I booked into the Crosskeys Bed and Breakfast Guesthouse because it was convenient as I was attending a family event in Broadwindsor. My first impression was formed by the clear and simple booking form on the web - and the almost instant confirmation.
That impression was confirmed by the warm and kind welcome given to me on a cold, wet day. My room was clean, comfortable and warm - there was everything I could have needed. My breakfast was delicious and served in delightful surroundings. Read less

"A Truly Lovely B and B"
Our stay in Dorset might have ended in disappointment had it not been for the wonderful hospitality of Liz and Robin. We had chosen the Cross Keys as it was convenient for The Wild Garlic Restaurant in Beaminster and the River Cottage Cafe in Axminster. As it turned out, the former was having an off night and the latter closed unexpectedly early for lunch so we did not even get in. But the Cross Keys, with a little help from the excellent village pub, made the stay. Read less

Very welcoming and gracious hosts who showed an interest in their guests without being in any way intrusive. Everything as it should be with much attention to detail. Excellent breakfasts.

Crosskeys House is an outstanding base from which to explore west Dorset and the surrounding area. It is close to important historic buildings and sites, fascinating towns and villages with a huge variety of shops as well as the world famous Jurassic Coast. For the energetic, golf, horse riding, sailing, swimming, ballooning and even walking with llamas are all usually available.
We will be delighted to investigate any other special interest you may have. Above all else, this is very beautiful unspoilt countryside, where wonderful walking can be enjoyed and whether you are on holiday or business, it is a tranquil, almost timeless place, to unwind and re-charge.
Broadwindsor is an ancient place and according to the Domesday Book of 1086, before the Norman invasion "Windesore" was held by a Saxon called 'Bondi'. However, being on the route of the Great Ridgeway and surrounded by Iron-age hill forts, it was almost certainly occupied by the Romans, if only for its plentiful supply of water.
Breakfasts are served in the family dining room or, for those who prefer to eat on their own, there is a newly created breakfast area in the conservatory. The interesting menu is extensive to choose from and every effort is made to make the meal an entertaining and happy start to the day.
The attractive lounge, with lovely soft furnishings, is almost always available for guests to use. Guests are welcome to enjoy the popular courtyard area. Car parking is provided in our parking area and locked, under cover, parking can be offered for bicycles. We offer the charm of old buildings coupled with really warm English hospitality and service.
