A great place to stay, just outside the old city walls, within ten minutes' walk of the centre and many visitor/shopping attractions - a 5 minute walk to York Minster. Plenty of atmospheric pubs serving decent food, plus restaurants and tea rooms, close at hand. Very quietly located at the end of a street with no through traffic, in a very handsome old house. Flexible about check-in time. Read less

It was warm, clean and comfortable; the breakfasts were cooked to perfection.
Dislikes:
The room was a shade on the small side and the shower was more of a mist, but these were as nothing compared to the plus points.

Crook Lodge is very close to the centre of York. We were able to walk everywhere, leaving our car in their parking area free of charge for the whole weekend, safe in the knowledge that it was off road and well looked after. the rooms were warm, cosy, clean and welcoming. Breakfast was served in a warm cosy dining room where staff chatted openly as they served us. We felt very much at home! Read less
