We were very well looked after, and made very welcome.
Dislikes:
We didn't enjoy the small rainy bit, as much as the sunshine.

We are situated about half a mile from the centre of the quaint ever-popular village of Shanklin, and within a short downhill walk to the sandy beach, but even before you get to us, you will enjoy the growing feeling of relaxion as you approach the Isle on the ferry.

Most of the major stores are represented in Newport, the Isle's capital just a few miles away. There are a vast number of attractions throughout the Isle, all within very short distances to cater for all tastes: and if you stayed for a month you would not scratch the surface of all that is available.

Excellent food is available everywhere, with a very wide selection of ethnic restaurants, speciality seafood and a large number of traditional seafront pubs, bistros and cafes - and be sure to visit Godshill as well , with its superb full cream tea cafes and specialist shops..

Walkers and cyclists are very welcome and we have a room for drying you out if necessary, hopefully by the following day. Evening meals may be available by special arrangement at additional cost. Our own free off-road parking is usually available, but if not on-street parking is very close to us and is also free..

A major feature of the beautifuf IOW is its eco-climate,which usually provides the Island with the longest and most sunshine hours in the whole of the UK. A visit in Spring, for example, is a revelation: you will be amazed at how advanced flowers, trees and shrubs are in comparison with the Mainland.

There are dozens of world class beaches, water activities being abundant. Host to the world famous Cowes Week, there are also very many festivals and events throughout the year far too many to list, so please contact the IOW Tourist Board or ourselves for a list.

The varied countryside is a haven for walkers and cyclists, the flora and fauna being a constant and never-ending source of delight: and don't forget to keep a sharp eye out for our famous and rare red squirrel !
