A sympathetically restored 400 year old cottage in the centre of this very popular Polden Hills village. Shapwick has historical interest in that it is apparantly an old Viking village, set out in the grid system favoured in those days. The house is built, in keeping with it's period, of locally quarried blue lias stone under a tiled roof and has original ground floor flag stone floors and very old beams. It faces east/west so benefits from the sun all day. The modern touches of an Aga, full central heating, 2 wood burning stoves and double glazed windows make it a cosy spot to explore Somerset from. No polycotton here, just pure white cotton.

All food, including bread, is home cooked and to order, with no microwes allowed. It is a perfect place to explore all that Somerset offers. Parking directly outside the front door and a tranquil and private garden.
