Thank you very much Mark & Sylvia. It's very interesting to not how your positive review compares with that of the Mersons in October last year - it is the same room!

It was an absolute pleasure to have your company in our guesthouse and we look forward to seeing you again - hopefully soon.

The host was excellent and the accommodation good though I found the sound proofing surprisingly poor considering the age of the house and the thick carpeting. Just a small thing but I found that I could not apply my make-up too well as the lighting was not good in the bedroom or the bathroom. Read less

I enjoyed the easy proximity to Inverness and the breakfast was awesome!

Response from Cedar Villa Guest House:
Sorry, we are looking into better soundproofing between the room you were in and the next one I believe it was one room divided into 2 at some point. We will take on board the poor lighting when we do our next round of upgrades.

Thank you very much for these constructive criticisms, and your kind words.

"Very disappointing stay."
Room was very shabby, wallpaper chipped and damaged, curtains, lampshades and bedding extremely dated. The double bed was the most uncomfortable - and noisiest - either of us has ever slept in, kept both of us awake. Shower very poor, and shower cabinet doors dreadful. Also, wc and cistern loose, unstable when used. Also tile grouting grubby. We ate only basic breakfast, because although cooked breakfast available, the smell of cooking in our bedroom put us off. Very disappointing. Read less

The location was quite good. And the couple who run it were quite friendly.
Dislikes:
Lots. Poor standard of furniture, decor, and maintainance. Not a single surface, either in bedroom or ensuite, to lay anything on. Parking a nightmare. And very expensive for what you got.
Response from Cedar Villa Guest House:
I have just noticed this review. We are very surprised at these comments as nothing was said during the visit by the Mersons. This always surprises me - if I am not happy with accommodation when I am away, I will tell the management face to face and not, to me, take the easy way out on a review website. All I can say to all of the complaints is that, we have an ongoing upgrading of the rooms and do them as and when we can afford the time and the money. Sorry you didn't enjoy your stay.
