The guest lounge had a stock of books, old and new, comfy chairs and sofas, an enormous original fireplace, and a beautiful chessboard out and ready to play. A true pleasure to relax in.
Dislikes:
Only the weather, over which no one has any control!

CAPEL DEWI UCHAF COUNTRY HOUSE is enchanting in every way, guests come from around the world to savour the delights of this five hundred year old Grade II listed farmhouse full of old world charm, hand in hand with creature comforts. Each room is unique in period décor with tea tray, hairdryer and colour television. In the guests' lounge there is a piano, guitar, antique wind-up gramophone with a collection of old records for evenings by the fire. You can play games or of course, keep abreast of the of daily news on the television. The Breakfast Terrace overlooks the garden which is a delight to walk around. We have 500 metres of prime fishing on the Towy River, please look at our website for fuller details.
Our guests often stay longer than they intended! For very special occasions our guests can enjoy being spoilt in the farmhouse dining room, (minimum of six). Since the change in the licencing law we have a 'bring your own wine' policy, there is a corkage charge. Your meal will be served "Dinner Party" style in our Baronial Dining Room and after round off the perfect evening with coffee & chocolates before retiring to bed and dreaming of another day to explore this beautiful county. When possible, seasonal produce is from our organic garden which includes vegetables, a variety of soft fruits and apple trees.
We have a self catering cottage for six people. Garden Cottage has been restored to a superior standard with central heating of course and individual country style, you can bring your horse on holiday too!
Take pleasure in our gardens, full of birdsong and perfume with views across the valley. Visit the two local garden projects nearby. The National Botanical Garden for Wales is just five minutes away, we are probably the nearest B&B. The Aberglasney Restoration Garden is some fifteen minutes away. Work began there on the 4th July 1999. This beautiful Towy Valley is the garden of Wales.
Environmental Statement
Here at Capel Dewi Uchaf we do our best to look after ours and your environment. Where possible we use local fresh produce and produce from our organic kitchen garden. We are not on main drains and use septic tanks, as we are bounded by the River Towy we just ask our guests to be mindful of their water consumption, thank you.
