We were made to feel extremely welcome and nothing was too much trouble. We had a wonderful sleep and yummy breakfast - with extra toast whenever required. I was helped to my room with my heay case which was a nice touch and we were recommended to try Lodge 24 if ever my husband was traveling with us. Thank you for a lovely stay. Read less

The weather! Had it been dry, the Guest House faces a lovely green park with play things for my 6yr old twins.

Cambridge House is a 4 star property situated in the town of Torpoint and has recently been refurbished in a sympathetic (to it's original Victorian origins) yet homely way.
Cambridge House is very well situated for access to both Devon and Cornwall. There is surfing at Whitsand Bay 15 mins away and the unspoilt Dartmoor National Park only 30 minutes away. The local area offers great walking and swimming. There are National Trust properties close by and The Eden Project is only 35 minutes away. The local area is often referred to as the 'forgotten corner' of Cornwall, with spectacular coastal views, numerous beaches, healthy walks, character fishing villages, historic places to visit and a wide variety of restaurants.

Torpoint could be described as the gateway to Cornwall. It is situated on a peninsula in East Cornwall, across the River Tamar from Plymouth. A ferry connects Cornwall with Devon across the river. The ferry is still free for foot passengers and there is a small charge for cars travelling in the Plymouth direction.
Close to the town is a picturesque stretch of water known as St John’s Lake. However, this can only be seen at certain times as it is completely tidal and dries out as the tide recedes.

We have family, double, twin and single rooms all available in our Victorian house that has been restored by ourselves with modern features. All rooms have digital televisions, Ipod stations, DVD players and tea & coffee making facilities.
Environmental Statement
We do our best to be as enviromentally friendly as possible. everything you put in your room bin will be sorted out by us into our recycling -system in the garage, so you dont have to worry. Whilst corridor lights must be left on for safety reasons, we ask that you switch off your room lights and any other electrical equipment when you go out. In order to save excess amounts of water and electricity, we dont change towels on a daily basis. These should be hung on the towel rail to dry after use. Milton walks to the local shops daily for breakfast ingredients. This supports our community as well as cutting out car miles. We heat the house well for the comfort of our guests-please help us keep our heat by not leaving the front door etc open. if you find it to hot in your room please feel free to turn the radiator down. we know its not a great deal - but every little helps.
