we were a family group of six we booked three rooms at the bridge inn and were absoloutely delighted we chose it we have stayed in many hotels in edinburgh as we are rugby fanatics but for the same price as a faceless travel lodge we found the wonderful bridge inn. The accomadation was beautiful, clean and very comfortable, the inn had a great atmosphere and setting on the canal and the food was superb a big well done and thankyou to the whole team we will be back the Sime family. We took over the Bridge Inn at the start of 2010. We have a clear vision for what we are trying to achieve: a friendly pub, with a warm welcome, and delicious home-cooked food. Wherever possible we use seasonal, Scottish, fresh, local produce, and everything is freshly prepared. We grow our own herbs and vegetables in a walled garden slightly along the canal from the pub. We have a small herd of saddleback pigs, and our menus often feature delicious home-produced pork on the menu. We use locally-shot game when it is in season. We always have a range of cask ales from breweries which we know throughout Scotland. We have had lots of fun selecting our wine list, which we have tried to make one of the best value wine lists in Scotland. And we currently have on a selection of over 20 single malts from around this beautiful country.

We are currently finishing an ambitious renovation project that will transform the Bridge Inn and put it back on the map. We are creating an atmospheric country pub in the 18th century part of the builidng with open fires and comfortable seating. We have altered the upstairs to create 4 beautiful and unique ensuite bedrooms. They will each have a different feel, but each has its own view of the canal and surrounding countryside. Finally our bistro alongside the canal has been upgraded and we have added a terrace alongside the building to make the most of our unique setting.

We are situated less than 10 minutes from Edinburgh airport, 7 miles from the centre of Edinburgh, 5 minutes from the M8 and M9 motorways, and a perfect situation to explore central Scotland - Glasgow, Perth and Stirling all being within an hours journey.

We look forward to welcoming you to Ratho soon.
