My friends and I stayed here in Feb 2012 to attend the Annual Viking Week in York. We are re-enactors who take part in the activities. We had a double and a twin en-suite rooms in which the bathrooms were spotless, the tea and coffee are unlimited - a large basket of 'extras' on the landing for convenience - rooms have shower gel / shampoo etc, great if you are caught short. Owners live close by and are available instantly should you need them. - Just a really great stay. Read less

Emma and her staff are both there whenever you need them, but not at all 'in your face'. The house is warm (it was February)very, very clean, comfortable, the breakfst is excellent it was just lovely!

The freedom to come and go as we pleased and that it was right next to the city centre, it helped when carrying ten shopping bags and been out since nine in the morning.
