We stayed at the Black Bull in Middleham for 3 nights and did not want to go home!The B+B facilities were spot on,the breakfast really set you up for the day and the hospitality was second to none.We were made to feel welcome and at ease from the moment we walked through the door.There was another 3 or 4 pubs/hotels in the town where you could go for a night out but we stayed put as the atmosphere was crackin in the black bull with the owner Barry being a great host.Locals were really friendly. The atmosphere was great. Jukebox was great. Landlord was a great guy who really made you feel welcome. Room was cosy and very comfy. In a great little town in a beutifull area.
Dislikes:
Only that we had to leave to go back home!!!

Rooms were freezing and smelt damp, asked for heating to be put on, but radiators were never warm whilst we were in rooms. Landlord was extremely aggressive because a lamp was left on when we went out. We asked for some heating to be put on over night, as you could see our breath when in the room it was that cold. The landlords daughter said the heating could not be put on, then in the morning the landlord was aggressive again, because we had asked his daughter for some heating to be put on. Read less

Nothing!! If we had not paid online, we would have gone elsewhere. Who wants to stay in accomodation where you think your going to get thumped? This landlord is definetly in the wrong profession!!
Dislikes:
Breakfast was in the pub downstairs. The room was in the dark with blinds drawn. The breakfast was cheap sausage, cheap bacon, cheap everything and greasy to boot. Appauling!!

Set in North Yorkshire, The Black Bull Inn provides a lot of activities that attract a lot of tourists daily.
Middleham is famous for its racehorses and several stables that surround the village. In the mornings, tourists are usually treated to a magnificant sight of the horses coming past the pub and at the top of the village.
We also have excellent fishing rivers - there are two rivers that run into Middleham; the River Ure and the River Cover.
Middleham is just outside the North Yorkshire National Park which provides tremendous walks in the moors.
There are also a number of castles and abbeys surrounding Middleham but Middleham Castle itself was home to Richard llV. The castle is now open to the public, so why not make a visit and learn some historical facts about his reign?
The Black Bull Inn is a perfect base for families, with Forbidden Corner just two miles away from Middleham, which has proven to be very popular with kids and adults of all ages! However, we are also perfect for a quiet getaway as there is very rarely a lot of traffic that goes through the village.
The Black Bull Hotel is a very traditional pub, specialising in traditional beers, ciders and lagers. In summer, there are tables out on the front for people to sit, with warm and inviting fires in the winter.
We offer traditional, homecooked pub food, at a reasonable price.
