Breakfast was served when it suited us and our evening meal had been booked for us at the local pub which was of a very high standard. although we only stayed the one night it was very relaxed.

The ensuite is nice, good bed and shower, the owner is lovely.
Dislikes:
The room doesn't have a lock, luckily we were the only ones there during our stay (it doesn't have many rooms).

Barney House is a Large modern detached house in the picturesque village of Flaxton, between York and Malton, offering luxury Bed, Breakfast and evening meals. It is ideally placed for exploring York and the surrounding coast & countryside. It is also very close to Sandburn Hall golf course & wedding venue.
The local Pub the Blacksmiths Arms is just a 5 minute walk from the house offering Real Ale and excellent food. (please ask if you would like us to make a reservation for you). The house offers large rooms, all with double/ king Size beds with pure cotton bedding and bath sheets as standard.
There is also a single room available with a large Victorian wrought iron bed. All rooms have complimentary Tea and coffee making facilities and televisions. All the rooms have space for a single bed if required for family occupancy. Families or groups are most welcome and we will endeavour to cater to your needs. We are happy to accomadate dogs and have a large kennel if required.
Children are welcome and we will willing add extra beds to rooms if required.
The annex is ideal for either families or couples wanting a quiet weekend away.
