Kay and Martin welcome you to Bramble Corner bed & breakfast. Bramble Corner is a large detached Victorian property set in the middle of the typical Fen village of Bluntisham in Cambridgeshire. The original part of the house was built in 1880 and the property sits in half an acre of formal gardens and Victoria plum orchards. Our location makes us well placed for St.Ives, and the Cities of Cambridge, Ely, and Peterborough.

Welcomed into the house and shown straight to my room with everything explained. The Windmill about 5 minutes drive away was a great place to eat. I was the only one for breakfast and it was quickly servered. I gave my ordered the night before and went for English which was 2 bacon, 2 sausage, hash brown , grilled tomato, beans and egg. Rooms very clean and well decorated. Bathroom was a very high standard. Free wifi was very good and allowed me to do some work at the small desk. Off road parking around the back had enough room.

We are located in Rectory Road Bluntisham some 3 miles east of St.Ives on the A1123, quite easily accessible from the A14, M11 and the A1 (M) if you are travelling by road; (just pop in PE28 3LN into your “sat nav” to make it easier). By rail, there are excellent bus links to St.Ives from Cambridge and Huntingdon railway stations (Service A, B, or C using the World’s longest guided busway) where we can arrange to collect you from St.Ives bus station, a little over 3 miles away.

We have four letting rooms all of which have either en-suite or private bathroom and we currently enjoy a 4 star rating from Visit England. Famed for our breakfasts (eggs provided by our own flock of chickens) we use locally produced ingredients and a lot is homemade (bread, jams, preserves, even our own yogurt).

In East Anglia and the Fens, there are a great deal of activities to participate in, and places to see. Right behind Bramble Corner is a recently opened section of the RSPB Wetland Trust area for bird watching enthusiasts, but also within a three mile radius, there is golf*, sailing, walking (the Ouse Valley Way), fishing, canoeing, river boat hire, and local sports centre for swimming etc. Further afield there are many ancient monuments, stately homes, wildlife parks and a host of other things to visit. Cambridge, itself, with its connection with the famous University, is a must to look around and the open top bus tour is an absolute essential.

* We are now a preferred B&B supplier to the newly located St.Ives golf club with its 18 hole links course and are in negotiations to offer guests a “golf package” that will include preferential green fees (bookmark this page for further information).

Do come and visit us for that special occasion, business trip, or visiting friends and relations.

You are very welcome
