This hotel is a gem. Great location, friendly staff, good food, clean fresh and tastefully decorated. Its location from Looe beach and view over the estuary/valley are a big bonus.

In all my years of staying in 4-5* hotels, the breakfast waiters at Barclay House are the only ones who have ever noticed that we like our morning tea very weak and adjusted the next pot accordingly.

Interesting antiques dotted around public areas and wonderful views down the river estuary. Would stay there again.
Dislikes:
Expecting a larger romm with a bay window as advertised, but room was small and uninspiring. Although the views were wonderful.

Hello and welcome to Barclay House! Hotel rooms, restaurant and self catering holiday cottages in Looe, Cornwall. Barclay House - our home & yours for the duration of your stay, short or long - we aim to please!
Barclay House lies on the edge of Looe, a historic Cornish fishing village dating from the 12th century. Carved into the hillside overlooking the East Looe river, this six acre property has breathtaking views over the water and countryside beyond, yet we are only 10 minutes walk from the town, harbour, beach & sea.
Originally built around 1890 as a Victorian family villa of uncompromising architecture, this wonderful 11 bedroom house has a spacious elegance & magnificent relaxed air about it. We are captivated daily by its fabulous position and the ever changing scenery.
Located on the ground floor of the house are the AA Rosette award winning restaurant, cosy lounge bar and sitting room complete with panoramic terrace overlooking the water (when the tide is in, that is!) Drinks are served al fresco when possible - what better way to see the sun go down than enjoying a glass of local Camel Valley wine whilst perusing our daily changing menu on our terrace? - the only problem will be what to choose!! You may perhaps enjoy relaxing by the pool nestled in a suntrap or enjoy some peace in our gardens and woodland.
All our rooms have everything you could possibly wish for - complete with those superb views - many of which are of the river!
Our luxury cottages which have spectacular River Views enjoyed from your very own terrace and balcony - are fully equipped with everything you might need including ensuite bathrooms (most master bedrooms with jacuzzi style spa baths!); fully fitted kitchen - right down to your very own garden shed and barbecue!!
Not forgetting our fitted state of the art gymnasium with sauna.
Easily accessible by air, road or rail, with gracious yet friendly service led by the Brooks family - we really do have it all!
