Stayed 3 nights with friends. The staff was very accommodating to our late arrival. Throughout the trip the staff was very friendly and helpful, even helping us book a bus tour, with a discount, during our trip. Our room had a nice view of the castle since we were only about a 10 minute walk away. The rooms were clean and had the usual amenities you'd get in a hotel. All in all the Averon is a great value for the money. Read less

My 2 sisters & I stayed at the Averon for 2 nights whilst visiting my daughter who's studying at Edinburgh Uni. We have visited Edinburgh many times over the last 3 years & until now have yet to stay at the same B & B twice, but we will definitely be staying at the Averon on our next visit. We found the staff & owner very friendly & welcoming. large quad room, ample reakfast,secure parking. At Averon City Centre Guest House we offer good value bed and breakfast accommodation only 10 minutes walk to Edinburgh Castle. Our Georgian townhouse is in a residential area inCentral Edinburgh. To the rear of the property, we have a car park and you can leave your car here for the duration of your stay. The parking is free and the car park is locked from 11pm to 7am for added security. On your day of departure you mau continue to use the car park until 10 pm in the evening.
Averon is a historic listed building. The house is fully restored and retains its original character and style. We have 14 guest rooms, decorated and furnished to a high standard..
Our location in the West End of the city is near to the busy and famous shopping centre of Princes Street, probably the premier shopping street in Scotland. Close at hand are numerous good restaurants, theatres and the Usher Hall, the main concert hall in the city. Only a five minute walk from here is the Edinburgh International Conference Centre which is located in the main financial district of the city.
When the house was built it was located on open countryside out with the old city of Edinburgh, which was the old town surrounded by the ancient city wall and close to Edinburgh Castle. We are pleased to arrange day tours to Loch Ness and Loch Lomond, with a pickup from the guest house .
