Dinner was outstanding and certainly value for money. The first night we stayed for dinner we had to wait over an hour between courses but we were soon compensated with free wine and dessert.

Due to the snowy wintery conditions the best bit was being forced to stay another night (road closures) and have to indulge in the fantastic food for another night also.
Dislikes:
The showerhead and eratic presure let the rooms facilities down.

Muckrach Lodge is the ideal place for you to relax in comfort and luxury.

Enjoy some fine Scottish food in our award winning restaurant with an excellent choice from our fine wine list and a personal service that is second to none. Our own herb garden, fruit trees and vegetable beds provide us with rhubarb, gooseberries, redcurrants, artichokes and a host of other garden bounty when in season. We are particularly proud of our own rare breed potatoes such as Highland Blue, Pink Fir Apple and Scottish Burgundy. We try wherever possible to use high quality local produce and deliver a high class meal to our guests in elegant and relaxing surroundings.

Enjoy a romantic break, a malt whisky experience, or join us for an enjoyable Highland Country House Christmas or New Year Hogmanay package. Children and dogd are always welcome (£10 surcharge for dogs).

We have a wine list of over 100 bins, and a similar number of single malts in the cosy lounge bar.

Our cosy bedrooms are designed with luxury in mind, equipped with all you need for a comfortable stay, with Egyptian cotton sheets, TV, hairdryer, complementary biscuits and freshly ground coffee. Suites and deluxe bedrooms are also available with extras such as DVD players, bathrobes and kingsize /4 poster beds.

We hope guests will enjoy our fascinating garden with our native trees, herb garden, local bird life and our highland cow Archie. For guests looking for something a bit more energetic, we have a full size croquet lawn and our own helicopter landing site!

There are plenty of sports and activities to enjoy in the near vicinity including abseiling, archery, sailing, clay shooting, skiing, deer stalking and Grouse shooting. For something a little quieter, there are some fantastic opportunities for cycling, walking, fishing and golf.

Famous world wide for the monster, Lochness is the deepest fresh water lake in the UK. Take a boat on this breath taking loch or visit one of the many monster exhibition
Environmental Statement
We take our impact on the environment very seriously and have a number of policies in place to minimise this impact. We ask guests to be responsible when leaving the room and to ensure that TVs and most lights are switched off. We always use low energy lighting where possible, so one light, or dimmed lighting, left on in a room is perfectly acceptable to ensure a warmth of welcome. The hotel is well insulated, and ongoing improvements will incude secondary glazing. Our heating runs in the morning, then in the afternoon and evening. Individual heaters are available in each room should additional heating be required. Fires will always be lit in the public rooms for guests who use them for any length of time. We recycle glass and paper and compost our vegetable waste. Further energy generating improvements such as solar panels, are being planned.
